Scratch Programming After-School Program
Program Dates: September 18, 2019 - November 6, 2019 (No class on October 9th)
Day of Week and Time: Wednesdays from 3:15pm to 4:15pm
Program Overview: The Scratch Programming course introduces students to coding concepts using block-based programming. In this hands-on course students build imaginative games and animations using the Scratch drag and drop visual programming interface. The project-based teaching methodology builds computational thinking, inspires creativity, hones analytical thinking and problem solving skills and prepares students to thrive in next generation careers. The modules covered in this program include coding logic using sequential commands, conditionals, loops, variables, random numbers, taking user inputs, events and other Scratch specific code blocks. This Scratch Programming course lays a strong foundation of computer programming and requires no prior coding experience. This program is open to students age 7 and above.
