Job responsibilities

  • Create a classroom environment conducive to learning

  • Be punctual, reliable, organized and efficient to run an effective class 

  • Follow curriculum, set student's goals, motivate and guide students to provide an enjoyable learning experience

  • Monitor student progress, advise students and provide feedback and support to students as required to meet student outcomes and course objectives

  • Inspire and motivate students; identify learning styles and apply a variety of teaching methods as required

  • Work effectively with students, teachers and parents to achieve course goals

  • Provide feedback from classroom experience into curriculum development, instructional methods, objectives and philosophy

  • Work independently and be a self-starter 

  • Communicate via email and phone with us as needed

Job Requirements

  • Computer science student or recent computer science grad (GPA 3.5 or above)

  • Experience with programming in one or more programming languages including Python,Java, Javascript, HTML/CSS, C/C++, Scratch; experience with robotics and Minecraft optional

  • Previous teaching or tutoring experience is highly preferred

  • Very comfortable with technology and using computers

  • Ability to think on feet and be assertive and creative to keep students engaged while teaching

  • Must be empathetic towards students and able to use different teaching methods as required to explain concepts

  • Must be comfortable teaching kids including elementary, middle and high school students​

  • Must be able to work in a classroom environment alongside teachers and/or independently

Job Responsibilities:

  • Key contributor for curricula for one or more grade bands and programming languages

  • Develop the curriculum vision and plan to make students relate to and fall in love with coding

  • Design well structured comprehensive lesson plans for inquiry based learning, incorporating pedagogy, learning activities, and assessments to measure accomplishment of lesson objectives

  • Obtain feedback on lesson performance from instructors to ensure the learning objectives and student outcomes are achieved

  • Identify areas for curricular or pedagogy updates as needed to ensure top notch learning experience and outcome
